Our boarding houses are situated at the heart of our beautiful campus, just minutes from Central Vilnius. We have a delightful mix of historic buildings and state of the art facilities and provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment for all our pupils. A team of experienced boarding staff live on campus to ensure that the boarding houses are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is also a Medical Centre on site with a fully qualified nurse on call at all times.
Each boarding house has it’s own character and history. Though, new pupils will find some elements common to all three houses; excellent facilities for study, areas to relax in and staff and pupils who create a friendly and supportive environment. Boarding helps pupils to become more independent. They develop long lasting friendships with pupils of all ages from different backgrounds and cultures.
Pupils can study in an organised environment and outside of study time make the most of the extensive co-curricular activities on offer, including a full programme of activities and trips operating every weekend for our student’s participation and enjoyment. Our Boarders achieve excellent results in their GCSE and A level examinations and accept places at the best Universities in London and the UK. Pupils leave Royal Russell as confident and responsible young adults.

The allocation of pupils into Houses promotes a strong sense of community, building strong friendships and promoting healthy competition and team spirit as well as making a high level of pastoral care possible.
We have two Boarding Houses for boys and for girls. All boarding houses have day pupils as well as boarders. Each House is run by a Housemaster or Housemistress who, with their families, live in the Boarding Houses. They are supported by a Deputy and a team of House Tutors and are all responsible for the pastoral and academic care of every boy and girl.
The atmosphere in each House is happy and collaborative, and relationships between day and boarding students of all ages are excellent, creating a sense of community that enables students to flourish. Living in-House fosters a sense of compassion, tolerance, mutual respect and an appreciation of others’ talents. Older students have a vital role to play in welcoming and caring for younger students.
All Boarding Houses offer exceptional facilities for study, recreation and personal space and the House Staff encourage every student in their House to make the most of the outstanding range of co-curricular activities on offer at lunchtime and after school and during weekends. House competitions and assemblies encourage students to represent their House in competitive and fun events throughout the year. Boarders generally stay at school throughout the term but may spend time at weekends with their Guardian or with their Day House friends.

Boarders have access to a fantastic range of activities on every day of the week. There are a huge range of clubs on every day from Monday-Friday. Boarders also then have their own regular activities which run every weekend, such as Cookery club or extra sports practices. And on Sundays there is almost always a trip out somewhere exciting.
Our Boarders have had so much fun this year. We have been climbing, trampolining, go-kart racing, had an incredible Fireworks Display and Halloween party, had fun dry-slope skiing and visited Chistlehurst Caves. There are also many activities on-site, including great Craft and Cookery workshops and Sporting activities.
We have held regular themed dinner events, including a spectacular Spanish night with great tapas and Spanish dancing, Chinese New Year, French Night, a Great British evening and many more.

We are happy to work with Agents or families directly to guide you through the admissions process for international and Lithuanian students looking for a boarding place.
We offer boarding places from Year 7 upwards on either a full or weekly basis. Our modern boarding houses have triple, double and single rooms and also have day students assigned to them to ensure that both boarding and day students are fully integrated.
Each house has a housemaster or housemistress, deputy housestaff and tutors living with the students to provide excellent pastoral care.
If you would like to apply for a boarding place, in the first instance we would ask to see a copy of your latest school report. We would then ask you to complete a Registration Form and pay the registration fee for a boarding place. Please download the registration form here.
We will then provide all the information you need regarding assessments and interviews. We test and interview all our international applicants. Our tests are in English and Maths (for students studying the British Curriculum who are looking to board we will also test in Verbal Reasoning). If you are already studying in the Lithuania, we would expect you to come and visit us to take our tests here at Royal Russell school – Vilnius. If you are studying abroad, we are happy to send our tests to your agent. The interview will be arranged once the tests have been marked and this will be with our Director of International Relations and can be done via skype, wechat, facetime or whatsapp.
Once this process is complete and if we are able to offer you a place, an Acceptance Deposit is the equivalent of 1 term’s fees and is payable to secure the place.
Children settle into life at Royal Russell quickly and easily and enthusiastically embrace their new experiences and routines. Our children are busy, productive and, above all, happy. Our full boarders have the opportunity to join in with regular activities and trips at the weekend. Please click here for examples of our boarding activities.
